Ghosts is a ballad full of emotion led by a strong vocal, great melodies and lyrics. It is a testament to good songwriting – demonstrating that an acoustic guitar and voice can work in its own right without excessive production.

Frankie Furlow – Artist Of The Week
Frankie Furlow are this week’s ‘Artist Of The Week’.
The first thing that grabs you when listening to Frankie Furlow’s music is a powerful, soul-drenched lead vocal. Full of character, it’s husky overtones combine with a great rhythmic delivery reminiscent of John Mayer. This is further exaggerated by the arrangement of the songs with lots of space allowing the lead vocal to breathe.
A great vocal by itself is no good without good lyrics and songs and ‘One Thing’ doesn’t disappoint. Take a listen:

Artist of The Week – Hollie Stephenson by Dave Stewart
It’s Artist Of The Week time again, and this week she’s been picked by Dave Stewart.
It’s clear that from a very young age Hollie Stephenson was obsessed with jazz, blues and soul. This influence is clear and evident in her vocal performance. From Aretha Franklin, Etta James and Sam Cooke, to Dinah Washington and Otis Redding, she channels the poems and stories in her developed style.
“I write all my lyrics myself. And melodies are just second nature to me. I’ve never even considered that as a thing ’cause melodies, they’re just how you sing it. It’s never been something I’ve had to think twice about.”
Even at such an early stage in her career, Hollie has already recorded her debut album with Dave Stewart in LA, and has performed two sold out summer shows in London. We predict great things for this extremely talented voice.
