Artist Of The Week: Sonnee

Manchester based Sonnee is our artist of the week for 2nd March 2020.  His song ‘So What’ is our featured track and has been added to our ‘Fresh Finds‘ and ‘Artist of the week‘ playlist on Spotify which will be played in Richer Sounds stores across the UK.

The intriguing opening, a wash of processed guitar sets the atmosphere for what transforms into a soul filled electronic track.  Influences from Caribou and Jamie XX can be heard in the production style, but the track retains it’s own identity.  We really liked how the vocal gradually emerges from the ambient guitar beginning, with a vague 4 on the floor beat teasing you before it finally drops in to a more ‘House’ style beat.
