Artist Of The Week: Samfire

London singer, songwriter and producer, Samfire, has a fresh experimental sound that is accompanied by her ethereal voice and well-thought-out lyrics. She oozes authenticity, making her music easily relatable. Influenced by artists such as FKA twigs (particularly her industrial-sounding beats), Lana Del Rey, Kate Bush and Frank Ocean, you can be assured that Samfire’s music is sonically pleasing.

Samfire’s voice is reminiscent of early Florence + the Machine. It sits in the mix and is sometimes embellished with effects, making her vocals sound like another instrument – beautifully lazy and haunting!

Her music introduces you to a sound that will purposefully provoke your thoughts and move you to feel new extremes of emotion. Although Samfire is spirited and imaginative, she is also quite private. Through her music, though, she is able to safely tackle her thoughts and actualise them in a healthy way, satisfying the daydreamer inside of her.
