Artist Of The Week: Kamora
Artist Of The Week is Kamora! Glasgow-based alternative rock outfit, Kamora, have been making waves since their uprising in 2016, with the band gaining radio play on Amazing Radio, BBC Music Introducing and Unsigned Radio, and have been shared by It’s All Indie, Rock Era Mag and Tongue Tied Magazine, to name but a few! Having first met in 2016 and played together intermittently since, Kamora officially formed in 2019. Taking the decision to really put the time in, they wrote and rehearsed together weekly, honing their skills as performers and songwriters. Kamora are on a mission to make the band a real success! Listen to Kamora’s latest single ’24’ here: The story of ’24’ highlights the struggles of a bittersweet connection between two people. Its lyrics reminisce about better times and provide an optimistic insight into how the relationship could potentially blossom once again. The soundscape is the perfect hybrid of driving rhythmic sections and euphoric hooks throughout. The tight instrumental and powerful vocals convey well the relatable message of the song. The band is made up of Max Murphy, Stuart McKay on lead guitar and Dave Buron on drums. Their shared taste in a diverse range of music – from alternative rock to indie rock and metal to blues – enabled them to have an open-minded approach to songwriting.
