Artist of the Week: Jonny Morgan

Jonny Morgan is our first Artist Of The Week  for 2021! We felt his Americana-inflected folk sound was a great soundtrack as step trepidatiously yet hopeful into a new year. Growing up visiting the US on a regular basis, Johnny fell in love with American blues and grassroots music at a young age, allowing those influences to shape his sound as he grew as an artist.

Rather than keep things strictly stripped back as some singer/songwriters choose to, Jonny’s work features really tasteful arrangements that bolster his relatable and emotional songwriting without overpowering it. At times, his voice is vaguely reminiscent of The National’s Matt Berninger, which is a no bad thing as far as we’re concerned!
