Artist of The Week is McCabe
Our Artist of The Week is McCabe.
After nearly three years since his last release, South London’s experimental soul artist McCabe returns with his new single ‘Killer of Mine’, dropping November 21st. Inspired by the emotional experience of the loss of a family member, the track explores mortality from two intimate perspectives – the one passing and the one left behind.
What began as an album track evolved into a standout single with the addition of a luminous piano riff, and Berber’s vocals, which elevate the song beyond its original scope. The result is a powerful blend of raw emotional honesty.

McCabe shares, “I wrote ‘Killer of Mine’ on the piano with a gospel feel, moved to write about the passing of my family member. I teared up as I wrote it, realising I had something special.”
McCabe’s sound blends the sensuality of Marvin Gaye with the experimentalism of Yves Tumor and Frank Ocean, while drawing from the electric spirit of Prince. ‘Killer of Mine’ showcases McCabe’s growth as an artist, embracing his falsetto and transforming personal pain into a beautiful, genre-defying anthem.
