Unsigned Sessions – January
It’s a new year and that can only mean one thing… Richer Unsigned Sessions are back at Melomania, baby! To start things off with a bang, we enlisted two very special acts to get toes tappin’ and bodies movin’!
First up was Amaroun, the latest project from multi-talented producer and songwriter Jay Brown. Amaroun’s uniquely kaleidoscopic and dreamy pop music weaves in influences from everywhere, with a soulful voice that sets Jay apart from the crowd; something that was felt immediately as she took to the Melomania stage. So what does Amaroun like most about Richer Unsigned? “The exposure. I love getting my music out there, and this really helps me do it. I love that.”
Next to the stage was Anavae, a rock duo from London comprised of vocalist and songwriter Rebecca Need-Menear and producer/instrumentalist Jamie Finch. With a heavy, bombastic sound that you wouldn’t believe comes from a twosome, they brought the roof down on at Melomania. We asked what they thought the most valuable thing Richer Unsigned offers to upcoming artists is, with Rebecca answering “It’s cutting out the middle man. You don’t need to be signed, or have a fancy manager, (the music) goes straight to the people who might like it.”
A big thanks to both Anavae and Amaroun for their fantastic performances, as well as everyone that came through and made the event a success! Be sure to head to www.richerunsigned.com to learn more about what we do and to hear even more amazing unsigned music!
