Max Pope – Richer Unsigned Artist of the week

Max Pope’s ‘Less than nothing’ sits somewhere between the realms of easy-listening John Mayer and slightly more rocky old Maroon 5 ‘Songs About Jane’.  A chorus-drenched guitar tone instantly grabs your attention and builds anticipation for what will follow. We are rewarded with a laid back Steve Jordan style groove, creating a warm texture for the vocal to glide over. Pope’s vocals do just that with fantastic harmonies creeping in throughout the entire track. Just when you think you’ve heard enough, a Hugh Masekela style trumpet solo kicks in lifting the outro.
